Baby Mini-Album

Hi Friends! Here is a baby mini album that I made for a friend of mine. She had a little girl. I super love this pape that I bought from JoAnn's. The album is made from chipboard. The cover and pages come from myscrapchick.com. My friend didn't have a name picked out so I told her that once he decided, I'd put the baby's name on the front.

My Mom told me that I should make something to put on my crafts that said that it was homemade. So, here is what I made to put on the back.

I stickled a heart onto this clear tag that I had bought from Wal-Mart years ago! The pocket that the tags are in is a flattened toilet paper tube covered with scrapbook paper. The tags pull out and are great for adding journaling or more pictures. I inked the edges of the album.

The butterfly is cut using New Arrival cartridge.

I just love lavendar and green together!!! The hearts comes from George cart.

I love this duckie paper. I made some diaper invitations once when I helped with a duckie themed baby shower. All of the cuts are from the New Arrival cartridge. I ran the duckie through my paper crimper.

I made this fold out to display some pictures and tags. Embossed the It's a Girl box using my Cuttlebug. The baby rattle again comes from the New Arrival.

Here it is folded and tied shut with some ribbon. Made the flower on the opposite page with the Cricut. I think that the flower is from George cart but not to sure. Added a crystal gem to the center for some sparkle.

The BABY squares were cut using the George cartridge. It is the signs with the sticks cut off. I glittered them for sparkle!

I seperated the two pages into quadrants using the white rick rack. Used the buttons to add a final end to the rick rack. I stamped the heandprints and the cutie pie circle. Pop dotted them to add interest. You can hardly see it but on the right page at the very top square is a cut out of a stork. It is a cut from New Arrival.

I wanted to add a little bit of blue somewhere in the album. I embossed these with the cuttlebug. Precious and the flower came from Plantin Schoolbook. Added a little bit of blue ribbon to tie the two pages together.

I made the envelope from (I think) Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cart. I added a gift card in the envelope for the parents to be to buy something that they needed and didn't have yet. The footprints are from New Arrival.
It was so much fun putting this together. I am going to work on another baby album for another friend who is expecting a boy. I'll post pictures when I am done.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
Hugs,
Stephanie

LID Challenge for this week

Hi Friends! I have completed the LID Challenge for this week over at the Cricut Messageboard. I decided to scrap some pictures of my youngest daughter putting together our first ever try at a Gingerbread house! I didn't make the house (although I'd like to give it a whirl one day) and instead bought it at A.C. Moore when it was on sale!! I used some paper from a paper pad that I had bought. It comes from DCWV - the Ultimate Premium Stack. It is really cool! It has all the seasons and holidays in it. There are 120 sheets in the stack! So, I used two kinds of Christmas paper since these were taken just before Christmas. I added a Gingerbread house and a gingerbread with a bowl on it's head from a cut file at MyScrapChick.com. I enlarged the images to about 2" for the front of the house. When everything is put together it measures about 3". All of the paper I used for the embellishments came from scraps! I just had to stickle the snow!! For the journaling, I used a ruler and measure and made my own lines. I really need to get some better way of journaling! Maybe some stamps. I added some ribbon that came from JoAnn's. I didn't add a title because what I'd like to add is bigger than the space so not sure if I'll leave it or add one. I'd love to hear how everyone else does their journaling, so leave me a comment! Until next time,

Hugs,

Stephanie

Valentine Thank You Cards

Hi friends!! I have received some Valentine gifts from my daycare families and so I am in need of some Thank You cards. I made this simple but cute card for them. I started with some white card stock. I took 8 1/2 x 11" and cut it in half to make 8 1/2 x 5 1/2". When you fold it in half, it fits into the envelopes you can purchase just about anywhere envelopes are sold. Then I took some red cardstock and cut it to 4x 5". I ran the red cardstock into my Cuttlebug using the Heart Blocks embossing folder. Then using my Expression, I cut a scalloped heart out of

Lipstick (pink) paper from Coredinations. I used the Doodlecharms cartridge for the hearts. Both hearts are cut at 3". Then using the Doodlecharms cartridge again, I pushed shift and the scalloped heart to create the inside heart. I cut this using paper from Me & My Big Ideas. (Not sure about the name of it. It isn't printed on the backside.) I then stamped the Thank You using cranberry ink to the same lipstick paper. Cut it out giving just a little tiny border around the edges of the stamped image. I then cut out from white cardstock a rectangle to go under the pink Thank You. I don't measure a whole lot when doing this. I just eye it and go from there. I matted them together and then attached them to the card. I wanted use some cute brads on each side of the Thank You mat but I didn't think there was enough room so I just glued it down. I then took the heart stamp (picked up somewhere a long time ago) and using the cranberry ink, stamped the image inside the card. Voila!! Until next time......

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Hi Y'all! I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!!! My hubbie and I don't do a whole lot when it comes to celebrating the holidays. We all went out together at the Golden Corral (my family's favorite restaurant) yesterday after church. My son was such a sweet little thing. I love this one cake that they have. I wasn't going to eat any cake as I am trying to lose a few pounds but my sweet little son went up to the dessert bar and got me a piece of cake that I absolutely love!! I couldn't not eat it!!! It would totally crush his little heart so I ate about half of it hoping that he wouldn't see that I didn't eat it all. It just made my heart melt when he brought it back for me. Well, I'd love to hear how everyone else celebrates Valentine's Day!!

Valentine Treat Bags

Here is my Valentine's treat bags for my children, daycare children, and daughter's teachers. The paper is mostly cardstock I picked up from the craft store. I used Design Studio to make a rectagle the size of 5 x 6". The bee is from MyScrapchick.com. It comes from the Valentines cut file. The bee is called Bee Mine. I used Make The Cut to enlarge the bee to about 2 inches. I chalked the cheeks and used some red sparkly pipe cleaners for the antenna. The heart wing is pop dotted. The hear comes from Doodlecharms cartridge. It is cut at 2 1/2". I used the scalloped heart and if you push shift and the scalloped heart then the plain heart will cut out. I hand wrote bee mine and the mouth with my ZIG black double-sided marker. I folded the red rectangle in half to create the topper for the treat bags. The tread bags were picked up a long time ago. I think they either came from Wal-Mart or the Dollar General - not to sure. They are 5 inches wide so that is why the red rectangle had to be 5 inches wide. I wanted enough room for the bee and heart to be glued on to so I thought that 6 inches folded in half would give me 3 inches to work with and that would be plenty of room to put the 2" bee and the 2 1/2" heart. I filled the treat bags with a little bit of candy, folded the tops down and then decided to staple the bag to the topper. I wanted to use ribbon but I was in a crunch for time and so the quickest was to use the stapler. Not as cutesy but it gets the job done.

Stephanie

VALENTINE TREAT BOXES

Here is a cute Valentine box that I made for my son's teachers for Valentine's Day. I saw this idea over at the Cricut Messageboard. (Not sure who it came from. If anyone has any idea, please let me know and I'll give them the credit.) I bought the plastic boxes from Wal-Mart for $2 each. I'm sure you could find them somewhere else cheaper but I really need to pick some up and I was at Wal-Mart. I filled the inside with candy. I apologize that I don't have all the dimensions. I forgot to write them down before they were sent off to school. I took the dimensions of the top and cut out a piece of pink "Sassy" card stock from Coredinations. I inked the sides with a lavender ink. The pink heart paper is from Me & My Big Ideas. Not exactly sure what the name is but I bought it at JoAnn's. I really love this paper. I inked the sides of the heart paper with pink ink. The heart was cut using the DoodleCharms cartridge. Again - not sure what size it was. I used the scalloped heart and then pushed shift and the scalloped heart to get the regular heart. The scalloped heart is cut out of white card stock. I embossed the pink heart using the Heart Blocks embossing folder and the Cuttlebug. The bee comes from the Valentine's cut file from MyScrapChick.com. It is the BEE MINE file. I used some yellow and black card stock from my scrap pile to cut the bee. The hearts are cut from the Sassy card stock. I didn't like the way the antenna was cut out so I decided to use some red sparkly pipe cleaners. I think it gives it more of a Valentine feel by using the red. The bee's head and the one heart wing is pop dotted to give dimension. I chalked all the edges of the bee and the hearts. BEE MINE was made using Make The Cut. The font is Script MT bold. I joined them together to make them into one word. I glued them down and decided that they needed some pizazz so I used some sparkle on top. The I is dotted with a gem heart that has been in my stash. Thanks for looking!!

LID Challenge for the week

Happy Friday Y'all!!! This is a LID challenge for this coming up week over at the Cricut Messageboard. I was so excited to get started on it as I haven't been able to play along because my children and I have been sick for about 2 weeks now. The pictures are from the dozen of roses my husband sent me for my birthday back in December. I thought that this sketch would be perfect for these pictures. The paper is open stock from JoAnn's. It is called Confetti and Daisies and Daisy Stripes from Sandylion Sticker Designs. The title was cut at 3 1/2 inches using Sweet Treats cartridge. I used some scrap brown and pink paper for the title. Surprise was cut using Plantin Schoolbook at 1 inches. The tag is also from the Sweet Treats cartridge as well. It is cut at 1 1/2 inches. The ribbon is just some brown picked up from Wal-Mart a long time ago. Buttons and gems are from my stash. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Stephanie
